Jack E. Kendle, 84, of Millsboro, DE and formerly of Chambersburg went to be with the Lord on March 13, 2015 after a long struggle with Parkinson’s disease. He was surrounded by his loving family. Jack was born in Waynesboro, PA the son of the late Roy M. and Anna C. (Zimmerman) Kendle. A 1948 graduate of Chambersburg High School, he served in the United States Air Force. A “master plumber” and air conditioning specialist, Jack owned and operated Kendle Plumbing. He later worked for Paul Lehman and then as a teacher at Franklin County Vocational Technical School where he shared his craft and mentored students before retiring to Delaware in 1993.
Jack was a member and a Past Exalted Ruler of BPO Elks Lodge #600, Chambersburg and a member of American Legion Post #28, Millsboro, DE. Jack loved the great outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He will be remembered for his great sense of humor and for helping others.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife Honore’ (Fitz) Kendle; sons Jeffrey
(Rhonda), Michael, and Jack R. (Rose); daughters Jody R. Cave (Paul) and Becky Yeager (Rick); his sister Betty Byers (Rowe); 11 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren.
He is also survived by many nieces and nephews as well as his Visiting Angels Theresa and
Crystal.
An Elks service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Thursday, March 19, 2015 by members of BPO Elks Lodge #600, followed immediately by a celebration of Jack’s life in The Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA with Rev Paul B. Baker officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Norland Cemetery.
