Jacqueline Shaul

July 12, 1930 — February 12, 2013

Jacqueline Karin Sylvia Shaul, 82, of Chambersburg, PA, died Tuesday morning, February 12, 2013 at Falling Spring Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born July 12, 1930 in Merignac, France, she was the daughter of the late Jacques and Emma Wijk Samazeuilh. A homemaker most of her life, Mrs. Shaul was the “chief of staff” for her family for the thirty years her husband served in the military. She was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Chambersburg and volunteered with the American Red Cross and Meals on Wheels. She also volunteered at Corpus Christi School where she taught religious education to the Pre-School class. Culturally active most of her life she enjoyed attending musical and theater performances. Her other hobbies included embroidery and cooking. She was fluent in French and English, and was a member of the French Alliance in Chambersburg.

She is survived by her husband, Rollin E. Shaul, whom she married March 8, 1958; five children, son Rollin E. Jacques Shaul and wife Sally of Shippensburg, PA, daughter Karin A. Davis and husband Stan of Aurora, CO, son Frank A. Shaul and wife Jana of Gambrill, MD, daughter Mary E. Anderson and husband Bill of Ventura, CA, and son Guy E. Shaul and wife Penny of Chambersburg, PA; and eleven grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Francois Samazeuilh.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. James R. O’Brien at 1:00 PM Saturday, February 16, 2013 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 320 Philadelphia Avenue, Chambersburg, PA. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Friday at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA.
