Jacqueline M. Stewart, 86, a resident at Falling Spring Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Chambersburg, PA, died Thursday evening, May 9, 2013 at the nursing home. Born April 10, 1927 in Metz, France, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Martha Wagner Gelas. She was employed as Public Relations Coordinator at Chambersburg Hospital for more than thirty years. Mrs. Stewart was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church. Her husband, Howard L. Stewart, preceded her in death in 1971.
She is survived by two sons, Roland Stewart and wife Eunice of Chambersburg and Ty Stewart and wife Susan of Shippensburg; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Mulholland; and two brothers, Roland and Pete Gelas.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated by Rev. James O’Brien at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 320 Philadelphia Avenue, Chambersburg, PA. Interment will follow at Corpus Christ Cemetery.
