Jacquelyn Campbell

Jacquelyn (Burkholder) Campbell, 82, of Chambersburg, PA passed away Saturday, September 11, 2021, in Chambers Pointe, where she had resided for the last few years. Born January 2, 1939, in Washington, D.C., she was the daughter of the late Alton and Rachel Burkholder and wife of the late Jesse Campbell.
She was a Sister of the Holy Cross from 1957 until 1986. Jacquelyn received her bachelor’s degree at Dumbarton College, Washington, D.C. and a master’s degree in social work from Catholic University, Washington, D.C. As a Sister, she served in hospitals, and as a teacher in high school and grade school. As a Sister and then as a lay person, Jacquelyn served in local ministries in D.C. and Chambersburg areas.
Jacquelyn was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church and particularly enjoyed going to the Adoration Chapel. She loved reading, watching movies, spending time with her pets, and visiting with family and friends from church and was a friend of Bill W.
She is survived by many loving relatives and friends including the extended Gregory family; Rose, Bob, Patricia, Teresa and Michael McHenry and their children, Grant, Hayden and Maia; Florence Campbell; and two step-children, Amy Grafmuller and Michael Campbell and their children Mitchell, Wade and Ian.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at 10 AM in Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 320 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg, PA 17201 with Rev. Fr. Andrew P. St. Hilaire officiating. Interment will be held following at Mass at 2 PM in Fort Lincoln Cemetery, 3401 Bladensburg Road, Brentwood, MD 20722. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 14, 2021, from 6 – 8 PM in the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA 17202.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice or for the help of the poor and suffering with contributions to Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 320 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg, PA 17201 or to the Menno Haven Benevolent Fund, 300 Ridgeview, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
