Jae Potteiger

Jae Alan Potteiger, 70, of Chambersburg, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 31, 2018. Born December 30, 1948 in Mechanicsburg, PA, he was a son of the late Eugene and Nancy Metzger Potteiger.

Jae was a 1966 graduate of Cumberland Valley High School. He was the owner/operator of Jae Potteiger Roofing in Chambersburg and had been in the roofing business for 48 years. He attended King Street Church. Jae loved to sing for the Lord. He was a member of the gospel trio, Daystar Vocal for 10 years. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman and enjoyed spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Marie L. Poe Potteiger, whom he married on September 12, 1970; his son, Chad Eugene Potteiger, D.O. and wife Debra L. of Maryville, TN; three grandchildren, Davis (18), Ethan Jae (16) and Lauren Potteiger (14); and three siblings, Gary Potteiger of Mechanicsburg, Jim Potteiger and wife Ruth of Mechanicsburg, and Cindy Moyer and husband Wayne of FL. In addition to his parents, Jae was preceded in death by his sister, Sue Harley.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, January 7, 2019 at King Street Church, 162 E. King Street, Chambersburg, PA 17201. Rev. Ronald Cook and Rev. J. Herman Fisler will officiate. Interment will follow the service in Air Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 8:00 PM on Sunday at King Street Church and one hour prior to the service on Monday.
