James H. Cullison, 95, of Chambersburg, PA and formerly of Marion, passed away Monday morning, October 31, 2016 at Menno Haven. Born August 31, 1921 in Reisterstown, MD, he was a son of the late Albert F. and Grace E. Yingling Cullison. Mr. Cullison served honorably with the US Army Air Corps during WWII. He was employed for 37 years as a guard at the former Seagram’s Distillery in Williamson, PA, retiring in 1983. He was a member of The Open Door Church. Mr. Cullison enjoyed gardening. His wife, Ruth Hussong Cullison, whom he married August 23, 1971, preceded him in death on March 17, 2015.
He is survived by two children, Barbara Ann Brodbeck and husband David and Dennis Lee Cullison and wife Susie, all of Hanover; six step-children, Richard S. Hill, II and wife Gladys of Marion, Thomas Hill and wife Dot of Chambersburg, Sharon Henry of Chambersburg, Nina Hill of Chambersburg, Linda Wagner of Chambersburg, and Jeff Hill and wife Laura of Warrenton, VA; four grandchildren, Michelle Hoffer, Bobby, Terry, and Richard Cullison; eight step-grandchildren, Richard S. Hill, III, Gregory Hill, Karen Ellis, Bradley Hill, Douglas Hill, Sandy Mellott, Cassandra Yungk, and Jessica Kittle; and numerous great-grandchildren; and step great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, James H. Cullison, Jr.; and two step-grandsons, Duane and David Williams.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, November 3, 2016 at The Open Door Church, Chambersburg, PA. Pastor Mike Sanders will officiate. Interment will follow at Parklawns Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 9:00-10:00 AM Thursday at the church.
