James M. Fulton, 68, of Fayetteville, PA, passed away Monday evening, December 23, 2013 at his home. Born August 9, 1945 in Clarinda, IA, he was a son of the late Charles and Betty Fulton. A US Army veteran, James served during the Vietnam Era. During his military service he participated in the burial of President John F. Kennedy and served as a member of The Old Guard Tomb Platoon at the Tomb of The Unknown Soldier in Arlington National Cemetery. Following a life-long career in law enforcement, he retired as a Federal Police Officer. He was a member of the Greenwood Hills Chapel and a past member of the Fayetteville Volunteer Fire Department. His hobbies included golf, fishing, and boating.
James is survived by his wife, Brenda L. Thayer, whom he married July 23, 1966; a son, Michael K. Fulton and wife Francine of Pottstown, PA; a daughter, Melissa Y. Stevens of Frederick, MD; five grandchildren, Kerri L. Fulton, Brett M. Fulton, Adrian P. Stevens, Jordon N. Fulton, and Michael K. Fulton, Jr.; five great-grandchildren, Kayleigh, Morgan, Braydon, Owen, and Marley Fulton; a brother, Robert Fulton and wife Jeannie of Council Bluffs, IA; and a sister, Rebecca Kudron of Greeley, CO.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30AM on Saturday, December 28, 2013 at the Greenwood Hills Chapel, 7062 Lincoln Way East, Fayetteville, PA. Chaplain John Winckler will officiate. Interment will follow at Parklawns Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM on Friday December 27, 2013 at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church.
