James R. Keene, 25, of Winchester, VA, died unexpectedly on Friday, November 18, 2011 in the Chambersburg Hospital. Born on January 7, 1986 in Rockville, MD, he was the son of Jerry R. and Jillian O. Keene, of Winchester. He grew up speaking French fluently and enjoyed playing soccer and baseball.
James was a student at Lord Fairfax Community College where he was studying for his certificate in Green Energy. He also worked as a mechanic for Beck Industries in Greencastle. Aside from his parents, he is survived by a son, Marion Patrick Keene at home; three sisters, Elizabeth, Rosemary and Bridgette Keene, all of California; and his paternal grandmother, Betty Louise Keene of Indian Trail, NC.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, November 26, at St. Luke The Evangelist Mission, 115 Overhill Drive, Mercersburg, PA. Interment will be private.
The family requests the omission of flowers and suggests memorial contributions in his memory be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
