James E. Staude, 86, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away peacefully, Thursday evening, August 1, 2013 at his home. Born January 23, 1927 in Pittsburgh, PA, he was a son of the late Oswald and Freda Robinson Staude. Mr. Staude served in the US Army during WWII and retired from the Gulf Oil Corporation. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Brethren Church and the Charles Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW. He was a life member of Burt J. Asper Post 46 American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, E. Doris Yung Staude, whom he married December 26, 1959; his daughter, Kathleen Stauffer of Manheim, PA; his son, James D. Staude and wife Dolly of El Campo, TX; five grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He is also survived by two sisters, Sara Kelly of Boyertown, PA and June Chaplik of Shippensburg, PA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Staude.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday, August 6, 2013 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA with Rev. Garry Culler officiating. Interment with military honors by member of the Charles Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW Honor Guard will follow at Parklawns Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
