Jane K. Statler, 76, of Fayetteville, passed away on Monday, February 7, 2022, surrounded by her loving family, after fighting a courageous battle of illness in the Chambersburg Hospital. Born November 18, 1945 in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of the late Garnett and Mildred Bender.
Jane was employed at the Chambersburg Hospital in the dietary department until her retirement in 2010. She was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church in Fayetteville. Jane enjoyed bowling, decorating her home, and loved flowers. She was a caring and loving person and had an immense passion for family. She loved spending time with all her grandchildren and sitting on her back porch enjoying the company of friends and family.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Robert “Bick” Statler, whom she married on January 26, 1964; three daughters, Stacey Allison, Michelle Sprow, and Heather Lovett (husband Lamont), all of Chambersburg; seven grandchildren, Brad Statler (wife Amy), Travis Sprow, Tiffiny Sprow, Brittney Statler, Tayana Harrison, Lamont “Rossy” Lovett, Jr., and Lleyton Lovett; eleven great grandchildren; and three siblings, Donna Moats (husband Ronald) of Scotland, Richard Bender (wife Saundra) of Fayetteville, and Daniel Bender (wife Donna) of Chambersburg. In addition to her parents, Jane was preceded in death by her brother, Garnett Bender.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Otterbein United Methodist Church, 61 W. Main St., Fayetteville, PA 17222. Rev. Bill Smith will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are entrusted to Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Chambersburg, PA. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Otterbein United Methodist Church at the above address in honor of Jane’s life.
