Janet Margaret Rotz Eshleman, 88, of The Sarah A Todd Memorial Home in Carlisle, formerly of Chambersburg, PA, was entrusted into the care of Jesus on April 1, 2025, at UPMC Carlisle Hospital with her family by her side. Born November 8, 1936, in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of the late Luther K. Rotz, Sr. and Helen McCleary Rotz.
A 1954 graduate of the former Chambersburg High School, Janet worked as a legal secretary at Black & Davison law office for 30 years, then as a trust administrator at F&M Trust, before retiring and serving as part-time tip staff at the Franklin County Court House. She was an active member of Chambersburg Church of the Brethren, participating in various groups and activities.
Janet loved knitting, volunteering at her church, and solving daily crossword puzzles, but her greatest joy came from spending time with family and friends. A proud member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority for more than 60 years, she cherished attending auctions, gospel music events, and her grandsons' activities, always with her husband, Nate, by her side. Janet’s family and friends meant the world to her, and she will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and generosity.
She is survived by daughter, Erin E. Blaine (Jeffrey) of Mechanicsburg; grandsons, Jared Nathan and Aidan Samuel Blaine, both of Mechanicsburg; her brother, Luther K. Rotz, Jr. (Delores), sister-in-law, Gwenda Rotz; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Nathan S. Eshleman, and brother, David M. Rotz.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, May 2, at 1 p.m., with visitation from noon to 1 p.m., at Chambersburg Church of the Brethren, 260 S. 4th St., Chambersburg. Pastor Mark Baliles will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to the church. Arrangements are entrusted to Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center.
