Janet L. Forrester-Pickell, age 70, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away on Tuesday, May 15, 2012 in the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA. Born January 10, 1942 in Chambersburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd E. and Isabelle F. Flohr Mummert.

Mrs. Pickell worked in the Banking industry at the former First National Bank of Shippensburg most of her working years, where she later retired. Upon her retirement she began working at Ace Distributing in 2003, where she was currently employed. Mrs. Pickell was active in the Salem United Brethren Church; she had served as the financial secretary. An avid outdoorswoman, she enjoyed all types of wildlife and hunting deer and turkeys.

Surviving are her husband, John Pickell; two daughters, Sharon A. Purnell (husband Mark) of Chambersburg, PA and Kathy F. Webb (husband Evan) of Elkridge, MD; two step-children, Shawn Pickell (wife Saundra) of San Antonio, TX and Shannon Feathers of Claysburg, PA; five grandchildren, Matthew Purnell of Three Springs, PA and Michael Purnell of Chambersburg, PA, Devin Webb of Elkridge, MD; Gauge Carson Pickell and Paige Pickell both of San Antonio, TX; two great-granddaughters, which she was anxiously awaiting their birth this year; and two siblings, Ray Mummert of Shippensburg, PA and Linda Hess of Chambersburg, PA. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Larry R. Forrester on February 11, 1995.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 21, 2012 at 10 AM in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd, Chambersburg, PA; where Rev. Ron Cook will officiate. The Family will receive friends on Sunday, May 20 from 5:00 until 8:00 PM and one hour prior to the service in the funeral home on Monday. Interment will follow the service in Salem Cemetery.
