Janet A. Voegel, 81, of Chambersburg, passed away on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born September 16, 1940 in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of the late Charles E. and Catherine Williams Fisher.
Janet was a 1957 graduate of CASHS. She dedicated most of her life to making a home for her family. Over the years, she had been employed at Knouse Foods, Cosey’s Tax Service and was an Avon representative for over 20 years. She enjoyed watching and feeding hummingbirds, flower gardening and doing crossword puzzles.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, William “Bill” R. Voegel, Sr., whom she married on March 6, 1965; three children, William R. Voegel, Jr. of Hustontown, Cynthia A. Miley (Doug Hartzok) of Chambersburg, and Angela L. Franklin (William) of Shippensburg; five grandchildren, Katelyn Miley (Albert Lemineaux), Caleb Voegel, Jacob Voegel (Alex Ritchey), Samantha Franklin and Austin Franklin; three great grandchildren, Brynlee, Cainan and Koleson; and her sister, Sylvia Brown of Hustontown. In addition to her parents, Janet was preceded in death by four siblings, George Fisher, Carrie Hughes, Virginia Myerly and Robert E. Fisher, Sr.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM on Friday, September 24, 2021 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Rev. John Bayer will officiate. Interment will follow the service in Otterbein United Methodist Church Cemetery in Newburg, PA. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 PM and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home.
