Janet Young

Janet Harmon Young, 89, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at the Chambersburg Hospital. She was a graduate of the former Chambersburg High School. She was a long standing member of the Scotland United Methodist Church and a life member of the Charles Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW.

She is survived by her daughter, Cindy Donn (Roger) of Richmond, VA; grandson, Joshua Young of Florida; and two great grandchildren, Alexandra and Robert Young. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Myron Young, who passed away on September 28, 2017; son Robert Young; parents Robert and Sarah Harmon; and two siblings, Ralph Harmon and Isabelle Armstrong.

A brief committal service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, June 21, 2021 in the Chapel of the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA, where Pastor Bill Smith will officiate. Private interment will take place in Norland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice. Arrangements are entrusted to the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Chambersburg, PA.
