Jaquita A. “Dean” Lowman, 102, of Fayetteville, PA, passed away Monday afternoon, January 16, 2023 at Paramount Senior Living. Born November 23, 1920 in Point, Texas, she was a daughter of the late Lon O. and Carrie Davis Fry. Following graduation from high school she attended the former MacMurray College (now MacMurry University) in Abilene, TX. She was employed as a social worker with the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare in Franklin County for more than 20 years prior to her retirement. She attended Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church where she was active with numerous charities within the church. She loved poetry and enjoyed playing Bridge. Her husband, Dr. William G. Lowman, whom she married March 6, 1943, preceded her in death on July 2, 1963.
She is survived by three children, Sandie Nobach of Fayetteville, Bill Lowman and wife Jennifer of Bradenton, FL, and Lindy Coder of Fayetteville; two grandchildren, Aaron K. Lowman and wife Dani and Greg K. Lowman; a great-grandson, Will K. Lowman; two step-grandchildren, Lauren Nobach and fiancé Ty and Kiersten Stark and husband Kevin; her sister, Billye Jean Woodford; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Edna Anderson.
A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Greencastle, PA.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions in her memory be made to Women In Need, 1280 Progress Road, or the Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter, 5051 Letterkenny Road West, both in Chambersburg, PA 17201.
