Jason L. Owens, 37, of Chambersburg, passed away on January 9, 2018 at his home. Born January 12, 1980, in Chambersburg, he was the son of Carl and Diane Watson.
Jason was a 1998 graduate of CASHS. A US Air Force veteran of 7 years, he served honorably during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Jason was employed in security at Letterkenny Army Depot for 10 years. He earned his associates degree in Network Systems Administration from DeVry University in 2008. He enjoyed cars, his dogs and was an excellent gamer. A loving husband and father, he cared for his wife and children more than anything.
In addition to his parents, Jason is survived by his wife of 17 years, Kristi Jones Owens, whom he married on March 17, 2000; three children, Alana Owens, Jason Owens, Jr., and Carter Owens, all of Chambersburg; two siblings, David Cleope (Vanessa) of Atlanta, GA and Blaise Watson (Megan) of Chambersburg; and his maternal grandmother, Kyung Owens. He was preceded in death by his biological father, Louis Alonzo “Tiny” Owens; his sister, Jasmine Cleope; and his maternal grandfather, Albert Owens.
A funeral service will be held at 2:30 PM on Monday, January 15, 2018, in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Rev. Dr. Lois Waters will officiate. Interment will follow in Lebanon Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home.
