Jean Lucille (Angle) Smith, 94, of Chambersburg, PA passed away Monday, January 11, 2021, in Chambers Pointe Nursing Home. Born April 7, 1926, in Hagerstown, MD she was the daughter of the late D. Seth and Margaretta (Remmel) Angle.
She was a 1944 graduate of the former Chambersburg High School. Mrs. Smith was employed at Letterkenny Army Depot as a clerk. After her retirement she was a volunteer at the Chambersburg Hospital and for the Meals on Wheels Program. She was a member of Zion Reformed United Church of Christ. She enjoyed traveling, sewing, and making braided rugs.
Mrs. Smith is survived by her husband of 66 years, Robert L. Smith, whom she married on May 30, 1954; a daughter, Pamela Mortin and her husband Brian; two grandchildren, Brooke Lilly and Brandon Barry; three great-grandchildren, Taylor, Smoltz, and Carolina Lilly; a sister, Nancy Kirten and her husband, William of Warrenton, and nieces, Lindsay Skitterall and husband, Daniel and Lauren Kirten and many other nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by three brothers, Benjamin, William, and Thomas.
A graveside service will be held 1:00 P.M., Friday, January 15, 2021, in Lincoln Cemetery, Lincoln Way East, Chambersburg, PA with Pastor Bob Mcfarlane officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg, PA. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Zion Reform United Church of Christ, 259 S. Main Street, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
