Jean E. Snyder Foreman, 77, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away peacefully Sunday morning, October 9, 2016. Born November 2, 1938 in Chambersburg, she was a daughter of the late Jesse and Katherine Miller Burns. Jean was a 1959 graduate of the former Chambersburg High School and taught elementary school in the Chambersburg Area School District. She was former President of the Ladies Auxiliary at the New Franklin Fire Company for more than twenty years. She was a member of the American Legion, VFW, Marine Corps League, AmVets, Moose, and the American Veteran’s, all in Chambersburg. She enjoyed bowling, bingo, traveling, and collecting flamingos and Barbie dolls. She was very proud of her Scottish heritage.
She is survived by her husband, Alan C. Foreman, whom she married April 11, 2009; two sons, Ray “Butch” Snyder and wife Sherrie of York, PA and Colin Snyder and wife Pamela of Everett, PA; four granddaughters, Jennifer “Jenny” Snyder of Richmond, VA, Lauren Snyder of San Diego, CA, Megan Snyder of Cambridge, MA, and Andrea Snyder of York, PA; and two brothers, Jere Burns and wife Gere of Monroeville, PA and Richard Burns and wife Betty of Titusville, FL. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Ray Snyder, on March 19, 2002; her son, Brian Snyder in December of 1976; three sisters, Grace Hippensteel, Dorothy Townsend, and Anne Oliver; and three brothers, Robert Burns, Earl “Pepper” Burns, and Kenneth Burns.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, October 14, 2016 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Interment will follow at Parklawns Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday and from 9:00-10:00 AM Friday at the funeral home.
