Jean M. Wilson, 92, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away peacefully Friday morning, February 8, 2019 at SpiriTrust Lutheran, The Village at Utz Terrace in Hanover where she had resided since September. Born March 10, 1926 in Chambersburg, she was a daughter of the late Aaron and Laura E. Bender Myers. She had been employed at the former United Telephone Company in Chambersburg and later at the former Cherry Lane Dairy. She went on to work for a number of years at the former Stanley Company and was last employed at the Handy Market in St. Thomas. She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Chambersburg. Mrs. Wilson enjoyed traveling; loved going to the beach; and spending time with her family. Her favorite place was the family cabin in Potter County, PA. Her husband, Kenneth Y. Wilson, whom she married June 26, 1948, preceded her in death on October 7, 2000.
She is survived by her daughters, Tamara Massingale, Robin Kovach (Mark), and KennaDee Swan (John), all of Chambersburg; four grandchildren, Angelic Cunningham (Jason), Nicole Kovach, Ty Woods (Charlene), and Amber Pereschuk (Chris); seven great-grandchildren, Braylon Cunningham, Isaac Woods, Gunnar Hughes, Ashlyn Cunningham, Brecken Hughes, Hayden Pereschuk, and Atlea Pereschuk; and her brother, Dr. J. Fred Myers of Chambersburg. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Dr. Richard Myers and Barry Myers; her sister, Dorine Devore; and her son-in-law, Thomas Massingale.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, February 14, 2019 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. The Rev. Dr. Aaron Smith will officiate. Interment will follow at Parklawns Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from Noon until services begin at 1:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
