Jean Wise

Jean B. Wise, 88, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away Sunday, May 29, 2017 at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born March 10, 1929 in McConnellsburg, she was a daughter of the late James N. and Ella F. Keyser Bender. Mrs. Wise was a 1947 graduate of the former Chambersburg High School. She was employed by the United Telephone Company as Supervisor of Operations and retired on March 27, 1989 from WCBG Radio where she worked as a receptionist. She was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Charles Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW Auxiliary and Burt J. Asper Post 46 American Legion Auxiliary, all in Chambersburg. She enjoyed playing Bingo, reading, and spending time with her family. Her husband, Bruce H. Wise, whom she married July 16, 1950, preceded her in death on September 1, 2008.

She is survived by her daughter, Theresa J. Reichard and husband Rodney of Chambersburg; granddaughter Elizabeth A. Reichard of Lusby, MD; and grandson Drew A. Riechard and wife Tezcan of Izmir, Turkey. The last of her immediate family, she was preceded in death by her sister, Joyce A. Brown.

Services and interment, under the direction of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Chambersburg, PA will be private.
