Jeffrey Over

Jeffrey L. Over, age 61, of Fayetteville, PA, passed away on Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at the Chambersburg Hospital Emergency Room. Born May 28, 1950, he was the son of the late Ray L. and Mildred E. Frey Over.

An automatic transmission mechanic, Jeff was the owner and operator of Over’s Automatic Transmission for over 30 years. A US Marine during the Vietnam Conflict, Jeff served honorably. He was a life member of the Landis-McCleaf Marine Corps League Detachment #295. Jeff was an avid Corvette and Harley Davidson enthusiast; in addition he loved NHRA Drag Racing.

Surviving are his son, Christopher Over and his wife Stephanie of Chambersburg; two grandsons, Dallas and Brock Over both of Chambersburg; two siblings, John and Ray Over; and his step-mother, Marge Over of Chambersburg.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November, 12, 2011 at 10 AM in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA; where Rev. Burton Lang will officiate. The family will receive friends on Friday, November 11, 2011 from 6-9 PM and on Saturday one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Interment will follow the service in Salem Cemetery; where members of the Charles Nitterhouse Post 1599 Honor Guard will provide military honors. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his name to the American Heart Association, PO Box 163459, Columbus, OH 43216 or to the Landis-McCleaf Marine Corps League Detachment #295, 450 Grant St., Chambersburg, PA 17201.
