Jeffrey “Jeff” D. Pound, Sr., 65, of Fayetteville, PA passed away Saturday, July 6, 2024 in the Chambersburg Hospital. Born May 14, 1959 in Dayton, OH, he was the son of the late Gene M. Pound.
He served with the United States Army from March 19, 1979 until his honorable discharge March 16, 1983. Jeff obtained both his Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering and his Master’s degree in Computer Science from Wright State University.
Jeff was employed as a computer engineer for the Department of Defense for a number of years. He was most recently employed for the Federal Department of Transportation as an IT Specialist, retiring in 2020. He enjoyed spending time with his family, reading books, collecting computers, camping, talking, and sharing “a good meal and a good story.”
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Pamela E. (Harnish) Pound who he married June 25, 1988; four children, Jeffrey “JD” Pound, Jr. of Denton, TX, Sarah Pound and her husband Dakota Maldonado of Staunton, VA, Amber J. Pound of Fayetteville, PA, and David “Dave” Pound and his wife Jessica of Orrstown, PA; and a granddaughter. He is also survived by his favorite cat, E.T.
A memorial service will be held at 11:30 AM, on Thursday, July 11, 2024 in the Chapel of the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202 with Rev. Dr. A. Robert Cook officiating. Military honors will be conducted following the service, in the funeral home parking lot by the Honor Guard of the Charles Nitterhouse VFW Post 1599, Chambersburg.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Thursday morning.
