Jeffrey Lee Sites has gone to join with peace in the sky. He departed this earth on July 17, 2014 from the Hershey Medical Center surrounded by his family and under the care of the most amazingly dedicated staff.
Jeff was born on November 4, 1949 in Chambersburg to the late Paul Miller Sites and Helen Mills Sites, being one of four sons. A United States Army veteran of the Vietnam War era, he served from 1969-1971, earning the rank of E-5 (Sergeant). He worked his early life in local clubs and bars as a bartender and worked for the Borough of Chambersburg Gas Company for a short time. Jeff was employed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania at the former Scotland School for Veterans’ Children from 1972 until his retirement in 2002. He was a life-long outdoorsman.
He married Sharon Lee Miller Sites on January 10, 1987. He fathered two sons, Michael and Todd of Chambersburg, PA. Jeff is also survived by two step-children: Lynette Stehr and husband Jeffrey of College Park, MD and Wayne Widney, II of Burnt Cabins, PA; a brother, Rodger Sites and wife Lisa of Fannettsburg, PA; four grandchildren, Haley, Jeffrey, Cory, and Alex; and two step-grandchildren, Kenton and Lexi. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul Sites, Jr. and Bennett Sites.
At Jeff’s request, services and interment will be private.
