Jeffrey Lee Steward, 58, of Chambersburg, passed away on Saturday, September 1, 2018, at his home. Born May 30, 1960, in Hagerstown, MD, he was a son of Robert Lee Steward and the late Dorothy Virginia Lease Steward.
Jeff was a graduate of Williamsport High School, graduating in 1978. He continued his education, earning his Bachelor of Science degree from Ohio Wesleyan University, followed by his Master’s degree from the University of Nebraska, and finishing with his Master of Studies in Law, with a concentration in environmental sciences, from the Vermont Law School. He was employed as an executive at Volvo GTT, where he worked for the past 9 years. He attended the Five Forks Brethren in Christ Church in Waynesboro, PA. In his free time, he had diverse interests, including; writing, hiking, traveling and fine scotch. He was also an avid Nebraska Cornhuskers football fan.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Alison Funk Steward, whom he married on February 19, 1988; his children, Joss Christian Steward of Cockeysville, MD, Camryn MacKenzie Steward of Savannah, GA, and Brianna Gabrielle Steward of Chambersburg, PA, and his brother, Greg Steward (wife Gay) of Greencastle, PA. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Dolly Funk.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, September 8, 2018, at Five Forks Brethren in Christ Church, 9244 Five Forks Rd., Waynesboro, PA. Pastor Shaun Kipe will officiate. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 to 3:00 PM prior to the service.
