Jerroyl Wise

Jerroyl L. Wise, 73, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born April 12, 1948 in Chambersburg, he was the son of the late Harold and Hazel Lesher Wise.

Jerry was a 1966 graduate of CASHS. A US Navy veteran, he served honorably during the Vietnam War. Jerry was employed in human resources at Grove Worldwide for 30 years until his retirement. He then worked part-time for Harmon’s Furniture and later Wolf Furniture. Jerry enjoyed playing the guitar, and listening to and singing bluegrass music. He also enjoyed cooking, grilling, gardening, surf fishing, traveling to the ocean, entertaining and pool volleyball tournaments.

He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Vickie L. Wise, whom he married on April 22, 1995; two children, Stephen Wise (Heather) of Narvon, PA, and Christopher Wise (Katie McCutcheon) of Mechanicsburg, PA; two grandchildren, Britton and Vivian Wise of Mechanicsburg; one sister, Carolyn Allison (Ronald) of Chambersburg; his sister-in-law, Monica Wise of Chambersburg; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his brother, Larry Wise. Jerry was a beloved family member who deeply enjoyed time with family and friends. He will be truly missed by those he touched in life.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at First United Methodist Church of Chambersburg, 225 S. Second Street, Chambersburg, PA 17201. Rev. Dr. Diane Salter, Rev. Murray Stevens and Jim Myers will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service. All those attending the service will be kindly asked to wear a mask.
