Jerry Lee Myers, 85, of Chambersburg, PA, died Tuesday morning, August 12, 2014 at Falling Spring Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born March 23, 1929 in Cumberland County, PA, he was a son of the late Boyd and Blanche Alleman Myers. Jerry served with the US Army in Korea and Vietnam, retiring after 22 years of service. He was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church in Newburg.
He is survived by his son, Jimmy C. Myers of Okinawa, Japan; two grandchildren; five sisters, Berdella Gipe of Chambersburg, Kathryn Miner of Fayetteville, Edna Ryder of Chambersburg, Sally Crider and husband Melvin of Fayetteville, and Molly Shoemaker of Spring Run; and two brothers, Charles G. Myers of Chambersburg and Ellis “Abe” Myers and wife Patsy of Amberson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Arthur, John, and David; and two sisters, Esther Kuhn and Helen Stevens.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM Friday, August 15, 2014 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA with Rev. John Ile officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hall Cemetery. There will be no public viewing.
