Jesse L. Crusey

Jesse L. Crusey, 86, of Chambersburg, PA went home to be with the Lord Thursday, July 25, 2024 in the WellSpan York Hospital. Born October 1, 1937 in Carlisle, PA he was the son of the late Wesley A. and Miriam (Barrick) Crusey. 

He was a graduate of Waynesboro High School with the Class of 1955. Jesse was a pattern maker throughout his career which started with Maurice Marotte. He then went to work for NASA in Houston, TX for a year before returning north to work at David Taylor Model Basin Carter, Rock MD and the National Institute of Standard and Technology (NIST), Gaithersburg, MD. Jesse then became the owner and operator of J.C. Pattern Company, Chambersburg. He eventually returned to NIST and retired after a number of years. Jesse was an active and faithful member of LifePoint Church, Chambersburg where he served as deacon.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Joann (Hock) Crusey who he married August 26, 1956; two daughters, Cathy E. Wall (Robert) of Chambersburg and Tammy L. Babcock of Houston, TX; four grandchildren Stephanie Smith, Jennifer Hann, Kristin Estep and Jessica Babcock; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Beulah Mellinger; three half-sisters, Charlotte Carbaugh, Ruth Myers, and Genevieve “Jenny” Newman; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his step-mother, Iva (Mower) Crusey and son-in-law Brian Babcock.

Services will be held 2:00 PM, Monday, July 29, 2024 in LifePoint Church, 339 Lincoln Way E, Chambersburg, PA 17201 with Pastor Randy Rhodes officiating. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. 

The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service Monday afternoon in the church.
