Jesse Fleagle

Jesse Fleagle, 80, of Chambersburg and formerly of Allenwood, PA, died Tuesday morning, May 29, 2012 at ManorCare Health Services. Born December 13, 1931 in Doylesburg, he was a son of the late Homer M. and Alice M. O’Donnell Fleagle. Jesse had worked as a heavy equipment operator throughout his lifetime. He was a member of B.P.O. Elks Lodge and the American Legion. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, cooking, camping, woodworking, gardening, and listening to gospel music.

He is survived by six daughters, Judy Orth and husband Larry of Chambersburg, Janet Gardner and husband Paul of Chambersburg, Cindy Carey and husband Tim of Waynesboro, Patricia Woodring of Waynesboro, Stephanie Stahl and husband Chad of Danville, and Barb Block and husband Ken of Woodstock, GA; twelve grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He is also survived by four brothers, Paul Fleagle of Fort Loudon, James Fleagle of Millersburg, OH, Wilbur Fleagle of Doylesburg, and Dale Fleagle of Falling Waters, WV; two sisters, Grace Shearer and Betty Hockenberry, both of Doylesburg; and a longtime special friend, Julia Hockenberry. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and Samuel Fleagle; and two sisters, Irene Piper and Esther Fleagle.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, June 2, 2012 at Agett-Geisel Funeral Home, 18875 Main Street, Dry Run, PA. Rev. Marlin A. “Butch” Neil will officiate. Interment will follow in Doylesburg Union Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00-9:00 PM Friday at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Inc., 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA and from 10-11:00 AM Saturday at the Agett-Geisel Funeral Home in Dry Run.
