Jessie Newcomer

Jessie K. Newcomer, 83, of Chambersburg, PA, died on the evening of Sunday, January 11, 2015 at Falling Spring Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born March 9, 1931 in Hagerstown, MD, she was a daughter of the late Chauncey I. and Louise Magaha Kieffer. She married Robert M. Newcomer on March 17, 1992 at Five Forks Church. He preceded her in death on November 9, 2009. Jessie worked as a Registered Nurse for the State of Maryland, retiring in 1991. She enjoyed antiquing, jigsaw puzzles, family reunions, and having picnics for family and friends.

She is survived by one sister, Patricia Stull of Ocean City, MD; three step-children, Crist L. (Barbara) Newcomer of Chambersburg, Barbara Dee (Albert) Cooksey of Shreveport, LA, and Jeffery Newcomer of Chambersburg; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, January 23, 2015 in the Chapel of the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Interment will follow at Parklawns Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

The family requests the omission of flowers and suggests memorial contributions in her memory be made to the Salvation Army Corps, 159 Lincoln Way West, Chambersburg, PA 17201 or Lutheran Home Care and Hospice, 2700 Luther Drive, Chambersburg, PA 17202.
