Jill McFerren

April 30, 1953 — August 21, 2016

Jill A. McFerren, age 63, of Fayetteville, PA, passed away unexpectedly at the Chambersburg Hospital on Sunday, August 21, 2016. Born in Chambersburg, PA, on April 30, 1953, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Viola Ross.
A 1971 graduate of the Chambersburg Area Senior high School, Jill went on to serve honorably in the U.S. Air Force. She was employed as a bookkeeper for over 31 years at the former Regency Thoermographics in Waynesboro, PA. Most recently she worked as a bus driver, working for Bricker Transportation and currently for Heck-Meyers Transportation. She also served her community as a notary and title clerk. Jill enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading, camping, spending time with her animals, and motorcycles.
Surviving is her husband of 17 years, James McFerren, whom she married on July 2, 1999; her children, Justin Cunningham (wife Samantha) of Indianapolis, IN, Andrew Cunningham (wife Amber) of Chambersburg, PA; James McFerren (wife Michelle) of Blue Ridge Summit, PA; Donna Carbaugh (husband Troy) of Chambersburg, PA; and Tod McFerren (wife Cheryl) of Hanover, PA, 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, three siblings, Kent Ross (wife Janet) of Bellevue, NE; Jan Ross (wife Barbara) of Chambersburg, PA; a brother in law, Arthur Pittman; and Nina Hess (husband Greg) of Waynesboro, PA, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Carol Pittman.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, August 29, 2016, at 11 Am at the Greenvillage Church of God, 5164 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg, PA 17202, where Pastor Matt Tosten and Pastor Trisha Brandt will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are entrusted to the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Chambersburg, PA. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her name to Knick Knack Pittie Pack, 9 Reynolds Ave., Mont Alto, PA 17237.
