Joan L. DeFonzo passed away at Quincy Village, Waynesboro, PA on Sunday, May 27, 2018. Joan was born April 10, 1931 in Pittsburgh, PA. Joan was the daughter of the late Aloysius and Catherine Frank Vogel, pre-deceased by first husband William K. Bogler, second husband, George J. DeFonzo and sister Barbara A. Burford. Mother of, William A. Bogler (Robin), Thomas M. Bogler (Denise), Stephen E. Bogler, Virginia L. Murphy (Terry), grandmother of six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Sister of Charlene M. Noonan and sister-in-law of Raymond Bogler (Anne), Barbara Lersch and Robert Burford.
Joan was a member of Corpus Christi Church, Chambersburg and the Mont Alto Senior Center where she served as a Past President. Joan enjoyed playing the organ, traveling, painting, trying new recipes and crafting. Joan’s family favorite was her holiday butter cookies.
Family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 30th from 10:00 am – 12:00 Noon at Thomas Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg, PA. Mass of Christian Burial, 12:30 pm Corpus Christi Church, 320 Philadelphia Ave. Chambersburg, PA 17201. Private interment, Thursday, May 31st at 10:30 am St. Joseph’s Cemetery, 1443 Lincoln Hwy, North Versailles, PA 15137.
