Joan Disbrow

August 13, 1941 — March 22, 2018

Joan C. Disbrow, 76, of Chambersburg, passed away on Thursday, March 22, 2018, at her home. Born August 13, 1941 in Fond du Lac, WI. She was the daughter of the late Conrad P. and Laura Wells Reslock. Joan was a Registered Nurse, artist, and a photographer. She enjoyed her work as a Reference Librarian and drove the Bookmobile where she relished interacting with her patrons. She was a member of the Council for the Arts and a faithful member of World Harvest Outreach where she was affectionately known as “Mom” and “Granny.” She treasured time with her family, including many “adopted daughters”, and especially enjoyed being a grandmother. Something you might never have guessed about Joan is that she was a five time consecutive Connecticut State Muzzleloading Champion. She was most known for her beautiful smile and her genuine loving hugs.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Frank L. Disbrow, whom she married on February 21, 1969; two fantastic sons, Christian Sean Disbrow and wife Danette of Connecticut and Frank L. Disbrow, IV and wife Karen of Virginia; five grandchildren, Joey, Kathy, Nikki, Hope, and Ryan; and her brother, Conrad Reslock of California. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings Obert and Lauren Reslock.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 14, 2018, at World Harvest Outreach, 1090 Wayne Ave. Chambersburg, PA 17201. Arrangements are entrusted to Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Chambersburg, PA.
