Joan Fox, age 80, of Chambersburg, PA passed away on Saturday, December 15, 2012 in the Falling Spring Nursing and Rehab Center. Born July 31, 1932 in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of the late George and Rose Snyder Deitzel.
A 1950 graduate of the former Chambersburg High School, Joan went on to work at the former Stanley Company for 12 years and then on to the Dietary Department at the Chambersburg Hospital for 27 years, retiring in 2001. IN the past she attended King Street Church and most recently had been attending Jesus is Lord Ministries Church. An unselfish and loving person, Joan especially valued time with her family, she also enjoyed going to church, going out to eat, going to the movies, taking vacations, cooking, and baking.
Surviving are her children, Carol Diane Light Worthman (husband John) of Chambersburg and Beverly Pearl Light Schooley of Greenvillage; her grandchildren, Robert Christopher Rotz of Germany, Tammy Marie Pittman of Winterville, NC, and Elliott Gregory Schooley of Greenvillage, PA; five great grandchildren; and four siblings, Janet brown, Richard, Johnny, and Jimmy Deitzel all of Chambersburg. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Fox on January 12, 2007 and two sisters.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM in the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA 17202. Interment will be private.
