Joan W. Knepper

Joan W. Knepper, 94, of Chambersburg, PA has gone home to meet her Lord. Born April 17, 1930 in Chambersburg she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Minnie Myrtle (Fahnestock) Knepper. 

She was a graduate of Chambersburg High School with the Class of 1948. Joan was a homemaker but worked as a bookkeeper for A&B Garage, Hagerstown, MD for a number of years and part-time at Giant Foods for 15 years. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Fayetteville and the Moose Club Auxiliary Chambersburg 1128. She spent many years square dancing with the Whirly Birds and Shippensburg Square Dance Clubs.

She is survived by two children, Brenda Kennedy (Harold) of Martinsburg, WV and William Knepper of Waynesboro, PA; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Charles “Bud” Knepper who passed away April 2011; a daughter, Patricia Mullen; two sisters; and two brothers.

Services will be held 10:00 AM, Friday, August 2, 2024 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202 with Rev. Chris Frye officiating. Burial will follow in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Thursday evening in the funeral home as well as one hour prior to the service Friday morning.

Joan’s wish was for everyone to find friends every day and give them a hug.
