Joan Patricia Smith, 82, of Chambersburg, PA passed away Wednesday morning at home surrounded by her family. Born November 12, 1931 in Washington D.C., she was the daughter of the late Leland and Esther Hedgcock. She is survived by her loving companion of 24 years, Vernon Bachman; a sister, Diane Wiley and husband John of West Virginia, a brother, Eugene Hedgcock and wife Claire of Florida; three children, Timothy Smith, Daniel Smith and wife Carol, both of Chambersburg and Wendy Smith and husband Lawrence Clark of Bel Air, MD; seven grandchildren, Danielle Smith and companion Brian Finucane, Chelsea Tracy and husband Joshua, Kelly Smith, Bradley Smith, Evin Smith, Harrison Smith, Camille Smith; three great-grandchildren, Cayden and Gavan Tracey, Brady Finucane. Joan also had a special relationship with her nephew, Stuart Fielding, and her nieces, Cheryl Wingert and Denise Dumfries.
