Joan H. Styer, age 77, of Fayetteville, PA, passed away on Monday, October 4, 2021, at home on the Greenwood Hills Bible Conference grounds. Born June 30, 1944, in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late John and Raymondé Harding.
She held many jobs during her lifetime, the first at Penn Mutual Insurance Co. in Philadelphia, she worked at Hackettstown Community Hospital for 23 years & was a Mary Kay Consultant while living in Hackettstown, NJ. Her last job was at Miracle Ear, in Waynesboro, PA as a Front Office Assistant.
She was a graduate of Onley High School in Philadelphia and took night courses at Philadelphia College of the Bible. She played the piano at churches in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. She once played the organ at Ian Pasley’s church in Belfast, Northern Ireland while traveling with Rev. Alex Dunlap, founder of the Conversion Center in Havertown, PA. The Conversion Center is currently in Hagerstown, MD. Joan has been in fellowship at Greenwood Hills Bible Chapel at 7062 LWE in Fayetteville since moving here in January 2015.
Joan’s passing was preceded by her son Kevin.
Joan is survived by Oscar H. Styer her husband of 53 yrs., her brother Earl Harding of Fayetteville with his wife Joyce, her sister Yvonne Ostien of Minneapolis, MN, her daughter Nancy Yost of Livingston, NJ, her grandson Eric Yost of Livingston, NJ and her granddaughter Krystal Yost of Allentown, PA, also many nieces and nephews locally.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, October 16, 2021 at the Greenwood Hills Chapel, 7062 Lincoln Way East, Fayetteville, PA. Interment will be in Windsor Baptist Church Cemetery, Uwchland, PA.
