Joanne L. (Durick) Gunder, 79, of Chambersburg, PA passed away Sunday, September 11, 2022 in the Chambersburg Hospital. Born October 12, 1942 in Thurmont, MD she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Sarah (Toms) Durick.
She was a graduate of Thurmont High School with the Class of 1960. Joanne was a floral designer working at various floral shops including Bercaw’s Village Barn, Waynesboro, PA; Flushing’s Florist, St. Thomas, PA and retiring from Fisher’s Florist, Shippensburg, PA in 2015. She was a member of The Presbyterian Church of Falling Spring and a lifetime member of the VFW Post 1599 Auxiliary, Chambersburg. Joanne enjoyed sewing, knitting, floral design and other crafting.
She is survived by three children, Dawn May and her husband Douglas of Shippensburg, PA, Zoe Gunder of Chambersburg, and B. Michael Gunder and his wife Annick of Chambersburg, PA; six grandchildren, Nicole Wilson, Brittany Mason, Ashley Keating, Matthew Mason, Hunter Stull and Chance Gunder; and eight great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Rodney E. Gunder and a brother, Joseph Durick.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, September 17, 2022 in the Chapel of the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202. Inurnment will be private at the convenience of the family.
