Joanne M. Marzolf, 71, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away at Hershey Medical Center, Hershey, PA. Born March 2, 1945, in Allentown, PA, she was a daughter of the late Elmer and Dorothy Bowers Long. Mrs. Marzolf was a graduate of the Pine Grove High School. She was a homemaker most of her life. Her husband, Chester L. “Chet” Marzolf, whom she married April 18, 1964, preceded her in death on May 5, 2009.
She is survived by four children, David Marzolf of Tipton, PA, James Marzolf of Pottstown, PA Rebecca Brophy of Hagerstown, MD, and Tammy Marzolf of Chambersburg, PA; six grandchildren, Gerald Marzolf, Brian Marzolf, Robert Menzie, Rio Jade Brophy, Tanner Brophy, and Joshua Cuccia; three great-grandchildren, Leo, Nathan, and Hallee; two brothers, Larry Long of PA and Dale Long of GA; and a sister, Bonnie Strappello of SC; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Levi Michael.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2 PM Saturday, May 21, 2016, in the chapel of the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, with the Rev. Michael Walker officiating. Private interment will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
