John Emory

John W. Emory, age 81, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away at his home on Tuesday, March 15, 2016, with his beloved wife and family by his side. Born July 4, 1934, in Waynesboro, PA, he was the son of the late Edward and Anna M. Smiley Emory.
Mr. Emory worked as an auto body mechanic all of his adult life, including working at his own shop on the side, retiring in 2006. He enjoyed NASCAR, country music, the outdoors, gardening, traveling, and especially spending time with his family and his grandchildren.
Surviving is his beloved wife of 61 years, Nancy Truax Emory, whom he married on February 25, 1955; devoted father of , Michael Emory (wife Christina) of Chambersburg, PA, Randal Emory of Chambersburg, PA, Angela Rife (husband Bruce) of Fayetteville, PA, Anita Strubel (husband Ron, Jr.) of Chambersburg, PA, and Anna Hartman of Chambersburg, PA; cherished grandfather of, Andrea Evangelista, Christopher Emory, Airica Evangelista, Adam Emory, Alyssa (Panaia) Balkom (husband Bryant), and Amanda Hartman; and ten great-grandchildren.
