John William Fetchen, 69, of Chambersburg, PA and formerly of Cranberry Township, PA passed away unexpectedly on Sunday morning, December 30, 2018 at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born November 29, 1949 in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late John and Rose Rushby Fetchen. John was a graduate of the Langley High School and attended the University of Pittsburgh. He was employed with Giant Eagle Markets, Inc., retiring after 47 years. He volunteered with Habitat for Humanity; enjoyed woodcarving, camping, and cruises; and was a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Frances Morse Fetchen, whom he married March 31, 1972; two sons, John M. Fetchen (Jennifer) of Waynesboro, PA and Benjamin B. Fetchen (Jaclyn) of Finleyville, PA; and his canine companion Nicolai. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Roseann Fetchen.
Services and interment will be private.
