John W. Gsell, 86, of Chambersburg, passed away on Friday, December 31, 2021 at Menno Haven - Chambers Pointe. Born on September 24, 1935 in Chambersburg, he was a son of the late John and Bertha Keefer Gsell.
John was a 1953 graduate of Chambersburg Area Senior High School. He then established John W. Gsell Sheet Metal, which he owned and operated for 32 years. He was an avid fan of the Baltimore Orioles and the Washington Redskins, and he enjoyed traveling with his wife, Nellie.
He is survived by his wife, Nellie G. Shover Gsell; sister, Arlene Byers (John) of Fayetteville; grandsons, Damian A. Gsell (Wendy) of Fayetteville and Aaron L. Gsell (Nicole) of Chambersburg and Trapper Gsell (Amy) of Fayetteville; and great granddaughters, Addison and Linlee Gsell and Kaitlyn Socks. Also surviving are daughters-in-law, Melita McNew Gsell and Kim Kramer Gsell, and a sister-in-law, Peggy Gsell. He was preceded in death by his sons, Randy and Denny Gsell; one sister, Romaine Mouer; and one brother, Harold Gsell.
