John Lyons

John “Jack” Charles Lyons, 92, of Fayetteville, passed away on Tuesday, October 2, 2018, at his home. Born March 13, 1926, in Bronx, NY, he was a son of the late John S. and Bridget McDermott Lyons. His beloved wife of 55 years, Waltraud “Jo” Lyons, preceded him in death on July5, 2014.
Jack was a graduate of Cardinal Hayes High School in New York City. A US Navy veteran, He served honorably during World War II and Korea as a radioman. He was employed as a field technician with IBM for over 30 years until his retirement in 1988.
He is survived by his son, Michael F. Lyons (wife Donita) of Fayetteville, PA, two grandchildren, Erika Lyons of Madisonville, KY and Brian K. Kintzel, Jr. of Schuylkill Haven, PA; and three siblings, Robert Lyons of Bronx, NY, Gerard Lyons of East Islip, NY and Ann Lyons of Milan, Italy.
A graveside service will be held at 1:30 PM on Saturday, October 6, 2018, at Corpus Christi Catholic Cemetery. Very Reverend Luis R. Rodriguez V.F. will officiate. Arrangements are entrusted to Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Chambersburg, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1004 N. Juniata St., Hollidaysburg, PA 16648.
