Joretta A. Wile, 85, of Fayetteville, PA, passed away peacefully on Friday afternoon, February 9, 2018 while surrounded by her family. Born January 14, 1933 in Chambersburg, she was a daughter of the late Wayne B. and Gladys P. Swope Rowe. Joretta attended the former Central High School in Chambersburg and was first employed at the former Stanley Company as a seamstress. She went on to work as a floral designer at The Garden Corner and then at Dymond’s Florist prior to her retirement. She also owned and operated Wile’s Ceramics in Fayetteville for many years. She was a life-long member of the Fayetteville Church of God where she volunteered in the kitchen and ran the church food pantry. She was a member of the Fayetteville Volunteer Fire Company Auxiliary and enjoyed gardening. Her husband, Robert C. Wile, whom she married June 26, 1954, preceded her in death on December 29, 2012.
She is survived by her daughter, Cindy Bailey of Fayetteville; her son, Robert Wile and wife Margaret of Fairfield; four grandchildren, John Appleby, Eric Appleby, Brendan Lewis, and Amanda Wile; four great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers, Wayne J. Rowe and wife Sarah and Glenn E. Rowe and wife Betty; a sister, Laura H. Wishard, all of Fayetteville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, February 15, 2018 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Pastor Staci Geesaman will officiate. Interment will follow at Parklawns Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until services begin at 1:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
