Josef Messmer, 83, of Fayetteville, PA passed away Tuesday, October 19, 2021 in the Chambersburg Hospital. Born March 26, 1938 in Czech Republic he was the son of the late Josef and Anna (Koran) Messmer.
He was a very educated man and obtained his master’s degree in business administration from the University of Pennsylvania. Josef was employed as a consultant in the transportation industry for many years.
Josef enjoyed golfing, hiking, and traveling with his wife. He was a very talented model kit builder, building many intricate and beautiful ships and types of models throughout his lifetime. His phenomenal attention to detail was quite obvious when looking at his work.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Lidia (Lau) Messmer and a brother, Peter Messmer of Austria. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a brother.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM, Thursday, October 28, 2021 in the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202. Services will be private.
