Joseph Hins

Joseph N. “Joe” Hins, 89, of Chambersburg, died August 28, 2012 at home. Born on October 27, 1922, he was the son of the late Andrew W. and Hazel Pifer Hins. A U.S. Navy Veteran, Joe served honorably in World War II. He was a member of Charles M. Nittershouse, Post 1599 VFW , Chambersburg, PA. Joe was a farmer with an entrepreneurial spirit.

Joe is survived by his daughter, Linda S. Hins of Chambersburg; a sister, Christianna M. Wagner of Chambersburg; two nephews, Timothy R. Wagner, M.D. and Andrew H. Wagner, D.V.M; and a niece, Christianna B. Jeffreys. Aside from his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dorothy, on August 1, 1993.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, September 1, 2012 at 11:00AM in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202. Rev. Dr. Neil O. Hively will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment, with military honors provided by Charles M. Nitterhouse VFW Post 1599, will follow at Lincoln Cemetery, Chambersburg

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Wycliffe Bible Translators, 1211 John Wycliffe Boulevard, Orlando, FL 32832.
