Joseph C. Ksycewski, 88, of Fayetteville, PA passed away on Thursday, January 11, 2024 after an extended illness. Born March 15, 1935 in Newark, NJ, he was the son of the late Joseph F. and Amelia (Muzikar) Ksycewski. He grew up in Irvington, NJ and enjoyed close relationships with his large extended family.
Joseph attended the United States Naval Academy, proudly graduating Class of 1957. He cross commissioned to the US Air Force and obtained a Master’s Degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the University of Colorado. He then began a career in the civilian service, first in Acquisition, Aeronautical Systems Division (ASD) at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and then in the senior executive service at the Pentagon as the deputy to the assistant Secretary of the Air Force, Strategic Systems. After retirement in 1990, he consulted for several defense companies with JCK Associates.
Joseph cherished time spent with his family and friends. Always a great storyteller, he loved to laugh and enjoy a good joke. He was an avid reader and history buff, with many enjoying his personal tours of Washington, DC and Gettysburg. He was a devout Catholic, member of the Knights of Columbus, and communicant of Corpus Christi Catholic Church.
Joseph is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Helen (Niggeler) Ksycewski and their three daughters, Suzanne Ehrenzeller (Andrew) of Cary, NC, Laura Ksycewski of Fayetteville, PA, and Amy Regan (William) of Chelmsford, MA; seven grandchildren, Molly Lit (Max), Hannah Ehrenzeller, Capt. Sean Regan, Catherine Regan, Emma Ehrenzeller, Shannon Regan, Stephen Ehrenzeller; one great-grandson, Jesse Lit; loving sister, Mary Ann Nelson (John); brothers-in-law, Mark Niggeler (Anna), Matthew Joseph Niggeler, and Christopher Niggeler (Aleta); nephews, Jonathan Nelson (Shih-Chi), Matthew Niggeler, and Fritz Niggeler; and other extended family, including close cousin, Patricia (Ronald) Carella.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 19, 2024 at 11:00am at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 320 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg, PA. Burial will follow at Corpus Christi Catholic Cemetery, where military honors will be conducted by members of the Charles Nitterhouse V.F.W. Post #1599 Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 18, 2024 from 4:00-6:00pm at the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202.
