Joseph F. “Joe” Penn, 77, of Chambersburg, PA passed away Thursday, May 12, 2022 in his home. Born April 27, 1945 in Lebanon, PA he was the son of the late John W. Penn, Jr. and Beatrice C. (Harter) Penn.

He was a graduate of Lebanon Catholic High School. Joe then went on to serve in the United States Army in Germany during Vietnam from September 24, 1965 until his honorable discharge September 14, 1967. He was employed for the federal government as a dispatcher for several years.

Joe loved his Ford vehicles especially his 1960’s Cobra that he would drag race. He also enjoyed spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Linda (Fisher) Penn; a step-son, Charlie Leonard (Katey Wisotzkey) of Fayetteville, PA; six grandchildren, one great-grandson; and two brothers, William T. Penn (Virginia) of Virginia and John C. “Jack” (Ella) Palmyra, PA.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM, Monday, May 16, 2022 in the Chapel of the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202 with Fr. Andrew P. St. Hilaire officiating. Burial will follow in the Corpus Christi Cemetery, Chambersburg, PA with military honors by Charles Nitterhouse V.F.W. Post 1599 Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions to either the American Lung Association at www.lung.org or to the American Heart Association at www.heart.org.
