Joyce Mackey

Joyce K. (Knoll) Mackey, 83, of Chambersburg, PA passed away Saturday, December 11, 2021 in her home. Born December 28, 1937 in Chambersburg she was the daughter of the late Lester and Ethel (Burkholder) Knoll.

Before becoming a homemaker, she was employed as a teacher on an Indian Reservation in New York as well as at local elementary schools. Joyce was a faithful and active member of Chambersburg Church of the Brethren. She enjoyed gardening, canning, crafting and sewing.

She is survived by a daughter, Hope Parson and husband Sidney of Chambersburg; four grandchildren, Faith, Devin, Carter and Lila; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth R. Mackey who passed away July 20, 2017; three brothers and one sister.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, December 20, 2021 at Chambersburg Church of the Brethren, 260 S. Fourth Street, Chambersburg, PA 17201. Rev. Joel Nogle will officiate. Interment will follow the service at Parklawns Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6-8 PM at the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA, and one hour prior to the service at the church.
