Joyce Jean Sullivan, 87 of Chambersburg, PA, died Friday morning, September 11, 2015 as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Born September 29, 1927 in Fort Worth, TX, she was a daughter of the late Charles “David” Peters and Ruth Gramm Peters. A homemaker most of her life, she was employed early in her life with Greyhound and the Old Dominion Foundry in Windsor, Ontario, Canada and then in the payroll department at NBC in Manhattan, NY. She was in charge of Meals on Wheels while living in East Brunswick, NJ and was a very active volunteer with Meals on Wheels of Chambersburg. She was an avid reader, loved chocolate, and enjoyed crossword and jigsaw puzzles. Her husband, Robert E. “Bob” Sullivan, whom she married February 5, 1955, preceded her in death on March 28, 2010.
Mrs. Sullivan is survived by her children, Gregory Sullivan (wife Linda) of Gilbert, AZ, Shari Whiteley (husband Tom) of Fair Lawn, NJ, and Laurie Bodzas (husband Mike) of Avenel, NJ; a grandson, Scott Sullivan of Hawaii; a great-grandson, Brock Sullivan; and a sister, Dixie Faletto and husband Phil of Granbury, TX.
Friends will be received from 2:00-4:00 PM Wednesday, September 16, 2015 in the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA.
