JT Berger, age 44, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 26, 2024, doing what he loved. Born July 4, 1979, in Akron, OH, he was the son of Jeff and Teresa Jo Berger.
JT served honorably in the US Army and the US Air Force Reserves before being medically retired. JT was a member of the American Legion and VFW, in both Chambersburg and Waynesboro, PA, where he participated as a member of the US Military Veteran’s Motorcycle Club. He was also a member of the Marine Corps League in Chambersburg, and an active member of the Mason Dixon Motorcycle Club. He also enjoyed carpentry, various weaponry, and “Stirring the Pot”.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife of 24 years, Jennifer Fickes Berger, whom he married on January 24, 2000; three children, Anthony Berger of Bronx, NY, Hailey Berger of Chambersburg, PA, and Luke Berger of Chambersburg, PA; two siblings, Trevor Berger (wife London) of Bronx, NY and Taylor Berger (wife Jen) of Scarsdale, NY; his paternal grandparents, Helen “Mom Mom” and Jimmy “PaPaw” Jackson of Jackson, MS; a niece, Ella Berger; and three nephews, Gavin, Ryan, and Jack Berger.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday, February 1, 2024, at 3 PM in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Inc., 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA 17202. Pastor Andy Ficks will officiate. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service in the above funeral home. Military honors will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made in JT’s name to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516.
